MIAMI, FL – Cosentino recently conducted its 22nd C100 annual convention, gathering a record number of attendees, with more than 360 individuals representing 164 manufacturing and processing companies from across the United States and Canada settling in at Riviera Maya in Mexico. Representatives from the region’s industry associations, including the American Society of Interior Designers, the International Surface Fabricators Association and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, among others, were in attendance.
Established as a key event for the stone, decoration and remodeling sectors in North America, the convention brings together Cosentino’s main customers and partners from the region. Themed “Committed to the Future. Committed to You,” each touch-point of the conference focused on Cosentino’s focused on building a safe, sustainable industry together for the future, the company reported.
In his opening speech, Francisco Martínez-Cosentino, president of the Cosentino Group, focused on the place at which the industry finds itself: “We are in the midst of an era of profound change that is challenging us to be competitive, agile and socially conscious. From a business perspective, we have to reinforce the integration of environmental measures and values, in addition to further improving our occupational health and safety policies and continuing our digital transformation.”
Among the various 2020 initiatives discussed was the increased commitment and investment in Silestone, focusing specifically on sustainable growth. The company is in the process of investing upwards of $147 million for the brand through 2021. The investment represents an increase of 136% compared to the previous three years from 2016 through 2018. The total sum is principally divided between the implementation of new production lines (up to three new ones in the next few years) and the improvement of existing lines, as well as continuous investment by the company into workplace safety and the environment. On the latter point, the notable environmental aspect is a crucial part of these efforts, underlining the increasing importance of Cosentino’s policies on sustainability, the firm reports.
