TORRANCE, CA — Doug Mockett & Co., the Torrance, CA-based supplier of architectural hardware and components, has announced a call for entries for its annual product design competition.
The competition, currently in its 34th year, is aimed at honoring the most innovative ideas for furniture parts, components, accessories and hardware. Written ideas, drawings and models will be considered, with first-place winners awarded $1,000, an engraved trophy, and the opportunity for royalties on sales of the product. The deadline for entries is Tuesday, Sept. 3. Winners will be selected in December.
“Even if you think your idea is too prosaic, dull, unusual or “not good enough,” we urge you to send it in and let us be the judge,” the company said. “You’d be surprised at how many first-place award winners were shocked when they got the congratulatory call.”
